Allison Brooks Janney is an American actor from the United States. She is known for her work on the stage and screen. Additionally, she's received nominations for two Tony Awards and has won an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, a Golden Globe Award, and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Allison Janney was a regional actress for nearly twenty years before she became well known as White House Press secretary C.J. Gregg in The West Wing (1999-2006) a popular and acclaimed television drama. Allison Janney was always a late to the party. She was not allowed to drive until she reached the age of 17. granted until she was 17 years old, a full year before the majority of her classmates came from Ohio. Following her graduation from the university the first time she went out on a date didn't happen. After auditioning since she was 23 years old, she didn't make an appearance in a movie until she was in her 30s. Faris has since left Mom in the year 2020, has decided to be extremely selective with her choices of roles. Her roles have been primarily in films with the only exception being the 2022 film The Estate. Faris has, in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE she said she did not make the choice consciously. Anna Faris is leaving her CBS sitcom Mom at the beginning of the 8th season. In the beginning, Faris announced that she would leave for new opportunities but now she's opening up details about the reasons she chose to quit acting which she says wasn't a deliberate decision at the time. Janney is a regular on the show and has always worn a full wig. "I'm saying, 'Guys! I've been wearing a hairdo since season one but nobody was aware of it," she said to Fallon in her interview, and then added, so everyone in the world is aware of the wig today. Janney would like to have the wig back. The actress was said to earn anywhere as high as $125,000 for each episode on early seasons of the show. The show's creators estimate that in the third or fourth season, Faris along with her partner Allison Janey were earning $200,000 per episode.
