Jennifer Garner is a West Virginia native, born in Houston on the 17th April in 1972. Her father, William John Garner, worked as a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann Garner taught in a college near her. In order to follow in the footsteps of her father, she completed a chemical engineering degree. Then she moved in New York in order to pursue her dream of becoming an actor. In her Broadway performances were followed by a stint at a local restaurant. She played a minor role on "Felicity" (where the show was where she first met Scott Foley). Garner got her first big part with "13 going on thirty" which was a romantic comedy which was widely praised. She was a teen girl trapped inside the adult body. Garner picked Gary Winick (director) to create the film. Together, they looked for projects that could be made until Winick's death in the year 2011. in 2009 Garner has been named as an artist ambassador for Save the Children U.S.A. The program focuses on the importance of nutrition, literacy and early childhood education. Garner has served on the board of trustees since 2014. Garner promotes early childhood learning. She has been a spokesperson of the Early Steps to School Success Program, where she coaches parents on how to best assist their children in learning.
